Senior Industrial Designer (Part-Time, Hybrid) at AR.VO
AR.VO, an innovative company creating web3-native personal computers in the form of augmented reality goggles, is currently seeking a talented and experienced Senior Industrial Designer to join our team. This position is part-time, following a hybrid work model, and compensation is solely provided in the form of stock options, offering a unique opportunity to share in the success of our rapidly growing company.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Industrial Designer, you will be pivotal in designing and shaping the physical form-factor of our AR goggles. Your primary focus will be developing a sleek, user-friendly, and ergonomic product design that not only meets our technical specifications but also appeals to our diverse consumer base. Experience with generative design tools and approaches would be a significant advantage for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and participate in all phases of product development, from concept and design to prototyping and testing.
- Develop 3D design concepts that encapsulate the company's vision and the product's technical requirements.
- Employ the use of generative design tools and approaches to create lightweight, efficient, and innovative designs.
- Conduct thorough user research to ensure that product designs meet ergonomic and usability standards.
- Collaborate closely with the engineering and product management teams to ensure alignment between design and functionality.
- Regularly present design proposals and progress updates to key stakeholders and the executive team.
- Contribute to the continual improvement of design processes and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Senior Industrial Designer or in a similar role.
- Experience in designing tech gadgets, preferably AR/VR devices, is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in mainstream industrial design software and tools, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Suite, and Keyshot.
- Experience with generative design tools and approaches is a significant plus.
- Strong understanding of product development, including sketching, conceptual design, prototyping, and testing.
- Excellent visual communication skills, including sketching, 3D modeling, and rendering.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while adhering to strict deadlines.
- A creative problem solver who can work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative environment.
Please note that this role involves a hybrid working arrangement, with both remote and optional in-person work at our Helsinki office. The compensation for this role is provided entirely in the form of stock options.
